What profile isolation can and cannot do
A separate browser profile can keep cookies, local storage, and connection settings apart during authorized QA. The proxy changes the route seen by a destination, but browser characteristics, logins, and behavior can still connect sessions. Use profiles for test separation, not identity deception.
Configure one route per test profile
- Create a profile for a documented test case.
- Add the proxy host, port, and supported authentication method.
- Confirm the expected exit location on a neutral IP-check page.
- Test DNS behavior and HTTPS without entering sensitive credentials.
- Record the profile-to-proxy assignment and rotate credentials after the test.
Protect credentials and test data
