How to use a proxy server on your Android device

Note: For this tutorial, we've used Android version 6.0.1. For all other version it's gonna be approximately the same.

The proxy you configure will be used by Chrome and other web browsers, but may not be used by other apps. Each app developer can choose whether it uses Android’s proxy or not.

1. First of all head to the Settings of your phone or tablet and select the Wi-Fi setting.

2. On the Wi-Fi screen select the wireless network you are connected to.

3. On the next screen, you will see all the information about your network. Scroll down to the Proxy settings.

4. Proxy is usually off by default, so you need to toggle Manual proxy on.

5. To finish the setting up of the proxy on your Android device, you need to get the credentials of the proxy from your dashboard. Here you will see 12 digits in a Host line - that is the Hostname. You will find another 4 digits after the colon - that’s the Port. And you will also find Username and Password for your proxy below.

6. Now get back to the Proxy Settings and add all the credentials required. Type the  Hostname - xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx and Port - xxxx.

7. There is only one step left to finish configuring proxy for Android. For that you will need to go to any website you would like to use the proxy for. You will see an authentication request. Now you will need Login and Password from your Litport.net dashboard. Copy and paste or type Login in the Username line and Password - in the Password line.

8. Click Sign in.
